Today was Cookie Kick-Off!
Time to sell Girl Scout cookies.
We "chaperoned" the field trip. There was A LOT of excitement about cookies.

No Rest for the Wicked #professorproblems

Today was a 14-hour writing day.

I wrote about 4000 words on my personal statement for my Mid-Pro document....lots of looking back in reflection and planning for the future. 

After that I moved on to editing the final draft of an article I co-authored with a colleague. We submitted it tonight! Hooray. 

Tomorrow. No writing.

Love / Hate Relationship

These three tests and I have a love/hate relationship with one another. Sometimes we are in harmony and other times we are in distinct discord.

Bedtime and Books

I am so grateful that I get to read twice a night for pleasure. There have been times in my life that I haven't had time for pleasure reading (I'm looking at you grad school). Before bed with the kiddos and again before my bedtime. Definitely feels right. 

Woofer Wafer King & Friendship Cookies

Claire told us a story on the way home from school tonight.

There was a boy named Woofer Wafer King. He was shot and died. And that is not ok. It shouldn't matter what color your skin is. Black or white. We can be friends. It isn't nice to shoot people. These are Friendship Cookies (it took her a little help to remember the word friendship) and they are really good. They have all kinds of different things and together they are really good. We need to work together. It isn't ok to die.

We will help her with the name next year when she is four.
