It's been how long since you've shown pictures of Fin?

Seriously, it's been forever since I have updated with pics. So here we go.

We had a Birth to 3 Halloween gathering. You've seen Maya's princess dress and Fin's cow snowsuit. Here is a pic of Fin's kimono (thanks T&E) and a perfect face! :)


We had an election. Maya stayed up to see the "present".



Danny and Maya took down the Halloween decorations together.


Of course there have been bike rides.


And swinging.

To add to Danny's family notes:

Fin is doing awesome. She is chugging the breast milk like a fiend which just means I have to stay on top of my supply while away from her. She has recently discovered her feet and thinks they might be pretty cool. She has accidentally rolled from her tummy to her back but nothing consistently. In fact, when she gets bored or tired from tummy time she just puts her head down and sucks on her hand until someone moves her! :) She also seems to be on the verge of giggling...but nothing definite there either.

Maya is a rock star in general. For the most part she is treating Fin much more gently. She still has her moments but now that Fin is responding to her, Maya seems to be seeing Fin as a person rather than a thing. She has an off again on again relationship with her underwear but I think that is just part of the process. She is cruising around on the pedal bike at school and her legs/shins/knees show it. They are black and blue with bruises. She is still in love with Abba (specifically Abba Gold). And here I thought I'd never listen to as much Abba as I did my junior year of college...WRONG! It's all Abba, all the time in the house/car/air!

Danny and I are doing well. Danny is doing a million shows and I am supposed to be writing a million words. Let's just say he is making more progress than I am for the moment. The first round of job applications are going out the end of the week or beginning of next week. I will make a separate post about that when it happens.

Other than that, I don't know much. We are making it. We are busy. We are happy.

Finally, to prove the Abba-mania in our house...here are Fin & Danny gettin' jiggy! :)

long time no see...

hey there...
i know it's been a long while since we've posted...
we are blessed with a very full life right now so
finding a moment to upload pictures, post them and write a clever story
or two
has just not made it to the top of the list of priorities...

There is housework to do
groceries to buy
volunteering at the daycare
work
rehearsal and sound design
grading papers
writing papers
reading books
feeding the cat
changing diapers
chasing
chasing
chasing...

some big peices of news
that are kind of filling up our lives right now
maya is making the transition into underpants!
she still struglles with the pooping
but remembers completely on her own
when it's time to pee
we have to talk alot about pooping
and then put a pull-up on so she can poop

i had a strange moment the other night
i was changing laundry from the washing machine to the dryer
and found myself checking tiny kid panties for poop stains
"this is only going to get weirder," i thought to myself, and then realized
the panties i was holding were decorated with ice cream cones.

Parenthood is a strange, strange thing!

Maya is also putting herself to bed...
we have shifted from Jen or I staying in her room
and rocking her for anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes
and now we read a story or two, have some snuggle time...
then Maya crawls into bed, sometimes with a book,and we leave the room.
sometimes it takes her an hour or so - but she is doing it on her own,
and mostly staying in her own bed thru the night too.

her reward is a movie!
current favorites - sleeping beauty (thanks, Sandy!) and Peter Pan.
Cars and Spirit have been trumped by the classics.

Fin is eating like a tank and singing cooing and giggling.

All three of my girls are beautiful, vital and dynamic creatures and i thank my lucky stars every day and every night!
