First Grade Open House

We were able to go visit Maya's classroom tonight! Feels like we just visited kindergarten. Time is sure flying!

You did what?

I was upstairs nursing Claire and Maya and Fin were downstairs watching a program. I came down the stairs and Fin was calmly picking her nose, something she does quite often...unfortunately. At some point she looked up at me and said, "I can't get my gum out of my nose." I said, "What?" And she said, "I put my gum up my nose." So I put Claire down and got a kleenex and told her to blow. This is what came out.

Seriously. It was an entire piece of gum! The whole thing. And yes, that is blood. But she was completely unfazed by all of it. Just looked at it and wandered back to the couch to watch tv. Meanwhile, I'm gasping, gagging and giggling. Seriously. This child.

Steele County Free Fair

We finally made it back for the Fair! It was a crazy fast trip because of Jen's work schedule but we wanted to get down for her 20th class reunion and we were able to sneak in a couple of visits to the fair. It was awesome!

We tried to do a family shot but the blond head opening was for a 7 foot tall person. It was ridiculous.

On Sunday, before we headed back up to Moorhead, we took in some rides.

We started small

Fin got a bit braver and decided to do the big slide with Maya. Things got a bit dicey coming down...

And even at the end Fin was a bit unsure...

And then a smile.

They decided to go for it again and Fin took her own blanket. She made it to the top

and then took a ride down with a very nice fair worker!

Next Maya tried out this ride.

Fin tried it on the 2nd go-round. We warned her that we thought it was a "big kid" ride.

And after. (poor sweet thing. She just wants to do what Maya does)

Grandma Barb and Grandpa Jack met us for a bit as well which gave Grandma Sandy time to run off and watch a bit of the horse show!

Go Fish!

Tucker was along and he and Maya love the big rides! They went on the ship ride 3 or 4 times in a row!

They decided to try the Sling Shot (or something like that). It takes you very high in the air and then lets you free fall.
