Bunk Bed Building

In anticipation of Zuzu's arrival we decided to tempt the girls into sharing rooms by offering up bunk beds. Mel's parents were doing an IKEA trip and were gracious enough to pick up bunk beds for the girls and a crib for Zuzu.

Grandma Sandy "just happened to be in town" which was fortuitous. I'm pretty sure there would have been bloodshed had she not been here to help us out.

First we started with a giant stack of lumber. Maya did an awesome job of looking for the pieces that we needed!

The girls were awesome helpers. Maya would find wood. Fin would count out nuts and bolts and hand them out.

Maya got into the action as well.

She took her work very, very serious!

Upright!

It took 3 hours. The kids were a bit loopy by the time we were finishing.

Getting in bed for the first time.

Happy, happy, happy!

Snoozing.

Snoozing.

Zuzu's room. Oy.

The next morning, Maya put the finishing touches on the pink tree and it fits beautifully in Maya and Finley's Big Sister Suite!
