Cinnamon oil plus vinegar and a bit or water. They hate it. I've watched the movie ants and bugs multiple times, and I still loathe ants. AW:)
Those sound like carpenter ants maybe. Are they eating the deck?JHT
Taro Ant spray/powder. Kills them for 3 months at a time! I lived by it at my bungalow in Eugene.
